Tshepo Rikhotso is reportedly eager to leave Sekhukhune United despite only joining the club in the summer.

The defender is unhappy with his lack of playing time and is looking to move to a club where he can get more regular football.

According to sources close to him, he is also unhappy over monies outstanding to him.

Tshepo Rikhotso made just six appearances for Sekhukhune in all competitions this season, and he has started all of them. The 30-year-old is a versatile player who can play as full-back or centre-back, but he has struggled to find a place in Babina Noko’s starting XI.

Several clubs are reportedly interested in signing Rikhotso, including Royal AM, Stellenbosch FC, and AmaZulu FC. The player is keen to return to KwaZulu-Natal, where he spent the last two seasons with Royal AM.

Rikhotso’s contract with Sekhukhune expires in June 2025, but the club is reportedly willing to sell him if they receive a suitable offer.

WHO ELSE WANTS OUT OF SEKHUKHUNE UNITED?

Sekhukhune United coach Brandon Truter reportedly wants out of the club. He has previously hinted that the environment was not conducive to work.

“I am considering my future because we need a conducive environment for the team to grow,” he told journalists recently.

“At this moment, I am not the happiest and a bit emotionally charged. I think that is [the end of] my interview, guys, at the moment.”

Truter has guided Babina Noko into the CAF Confederation Cup group stages. The continental club competition resumes in November after a break to allow the newly formed African Football League.

When asked about his team’s prospects in the competition recently, he cast doubt on his future with the club.

“At this moment, I can’t talk about my future. Sekhukhune will see how the draw goes. Whether I’m part of [the club] in the future, that is something I still have to consider,” he said.
