South African striker Lyle Foster has committed his future at Premier League side Burnley FC, signing a new long-term contract that will keep him at the club until 2028.

The Bafana Bafana hitman is delighted to remain with Burnley, where he is enjoying his football and a good environment.

Lyle Foster has made an impressive start to his Premier League career, scoring three goals and providing two assists in just seven appearances.

The 23-year-old opened his scoring account for the season against Aston Villa and then proceeded to contribute a goal or assist in four straight games.

He expressed his delight at penning a five-year deal at Burnley, a club he helped gain promotion to the Premier League by winning the Championship last season.

And despite Burnley’s early-season struggles, Foster remains confident that the Clarets will find their form and achieve success as the campaign progresses. Burnley are in the relegation zone in 18th place on the log standings after nine games with three points from their one win.

“I’m trying to stay focused and continue working hard. It’s a long season with lots of tough games, but as time goes on, I think we will grow stronger,” he said. “

We will have a good season. I have plenty of belief and confidence within the squad, the coaches and everyone around the building. There is no need to stress. Just enjoy what we’re doing, and there’s a recipe for success.”
