The Carling Knockout Cup is a new cup competition in South Africa, and it has already thrown up some surprises in the early rounds. Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs have both been eliminated, while Polokwane City and Richards Bay FC have both reached the quarter-finals for the first time.

The quarter-finals promise to be exciting, with all eight teams evenly matched. Orlando Pirates are the favourites to win the competition, but they will face a tough test against Richards Bay FC. AmaZulu FC and Golden Arrows are also both strong teams, and they will be hoping to reach the semi-finals.
