Following Kaizer Chiefs’ exit from the Carling Knockout Cup, Amakhosi head coach Molefi Ntseki was asked about his future at the club during the post-match press conference on Saturday.
Ntseki was appointed Chiefs coach in June 2023 following the demotion of Arthur Zwane. He has overseen a mixed start to the season, with the team sitting in eighth place in the DStv Premiership standings.
Chiefs were booted out of the MTN8 Cup in the semi-final, and on Saturday, they also exited the new Carling Cup in the Round of 16. That leaves them the Nedbank Cup as they look to end their trophy drought.
The league is undoubtedly far-fetched, as they trail Mamelodi Sundowns by 13 points.
WHAT NTSEKI SAID IN RESPONSE TO QUESTIONS ABOUT HIS FUTURE
“I think it’s a question that [doesn’t have] has to be answered now because I’m employed by the club.
“We have technical conversations. We look into incidents like this and have meetings to discuss the possibilities going forward [are]. But for you to ask how I see my future at Kaizer Chiefs, I don’t think this is the platform to entertain that question.”

Molefi Ntseki admitted he found himself in a “difficult space”, adding when the team loses, he asks himself “, What will happen at the end of the game?”.
A group of Chiefs fans pelted objects that included water bottles at the coach after Saturday’s loss.
“I don’t think it’s a good thing for football because it has turned out to be more like every training session you have is your last; every game you play is your last game because you are more worried about the results.”
Ntseki also said the behaviour of the fans was not only affecting him. “It’s not only affecting you as a coach but also the players. Because when they hear and see what happens to their coach when you lose matches, it also becomes a reflection on them to say, ‘What if tomorrow I become the next one if today I don’t have a good game’.”
