Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly set to sign Luke Fleurs after the 23-year-old defender impressed the club’s technical team during a successful trial.
Fleurs, who was previously on the books of SuperSport United, has been training with Chiefs for the past few weeks and has caught the eye of coach Molefi Ntseki with his performances in training and in the team’s friendly matches.
According to sources close to the club, Fleurs is set to be offered a contract next week and could make his debut for Chiefs soon.
KAIZER CHIEFS LUKE FLEURS SET FOR CHIEFS CONTRACT
“He has been impressive in training and the friendly matches we played. Management is happy, and they should be giving him a contract to sign next week,” a Chiefs source said.
If Fleurs does sign for Chiefs, he will add much-needed depth to the club’s defence, which was one of their weaknesses in the previous season.

Fleurs is a versatile defender who can play at right-back or centre-back. He is also known for his aerial prowess and his ability to read the game well.
Fleurs’ signing would be an excellent addition to the Chiefs squad and boost the club’s fans, who are eager to see the team return to winning in the upcoming season.
However, with Njabulo Ngcobo, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Given Msimango all doing well in central defence, it will be a while before he gets his turn.
Zitha Kwinika is also waiting on the wings, while Edmilson Dove can also slot in at left centre-back.
The former South Africa youth international is thought to be a long-term signing as he still has age on his side.
“He may not play regularly for now, but the thinking is that he’s a player who can understudy the current defenders and take over in the near future,” added the source.
