Coach Hugo Broos says he is beset with finding a perfect back-up for the Bafana Bafana talisman, Themba Zwane.

Hugo Broos revealed his plans to bring in a perfect back-up for Themba Zwane, ahead of a taxing spell that will include 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the AFCON finals.

The Belgian gaffer announced his final squad for the two upcoming friendly matches against Eswatini and Ivory Coast.

Bafana Bafana are scheduled to host Eswatini on 13 October, before travelling for a date with Ivory Coast, four days later.

Although Themba Zwane is in fine fettle, Broos feels there is need to have a back-up plan for the versatile Bafana attacker.

“We are really looking but we can’t find a replacement for Themba Zwane. It’s a player really difficult to find, we have few options so we will see what those options will give us in the next few months.

“I hope we can find someone but in this side, I still have Percy Tau who can play in that position. It’s not really the biggest problems but trully it worries me a little bit,” Broos said.

Meanwhile they will be without the injured Thapelo Morena, Bathusi Aubaas and Innocent Maela when they take on Eswatini and Ivory Coast.

Bross gave the exciting Orlando Pirates left-back Paseka Mako his maiden national team call-up.

The upcoming friendlies are in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers where they are in Group C, along with tricky opponents in Nigeria, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Benin.

Broos will also be hoping oil his team for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Ivory Coast.
