Sekhukhune United could make a coaching change, with support for the incumbent Brandon Truter waning.
Truter is in his first full season as head coach of Sekhukhune, after being appointed to the role on a three-year deal in November 2022.

He took over midway throughout the 2022/23 season from Kaitano Tembo, who was shown the exit door due to poor results.

The former AmaZulu FC and Swallows coach led Sekhukhune United to a top eight season and guided the club to the Nedbank Cup final, where they lost to Orlando Pirates.

By virtue of playing in the Nedbank final, Truter’s men qualified to play in the CAF Confederation Cup

SEKHUKHUNE NOT HAPPY WITH TRUTER

It is also worth noting that Sekhukhune were sitting in 15th in the DStv Premiership when Truter was appointed.

Despise Truter doing fairly well, the Sekhukhune management is not impressed with the coach’s playing style and some players are reportedly unhappy with him.

The Babina Noko hierarchy set out high standards when they gained promotion to the DStv DStv by being crowned the 2020/21 NFD champions.

To back up their aspirations, they acquired the services of several highly-rated stars such as Daniel Cardoso, Sibusiso Vilakazi and Linda Mntambo.

With the squad, they have assembled, the Sekhukhune management want a coach that plays attacking football.

The club’s current coach Truter is known as a defensive tactican and it was evident last season as Sekhukhune were among the lowest scoring teams with a strong defensive record.

SN24 has it on good authority that Sekhukhune are at CVs of three foreign coaches. They’re considering changing coaches in January. In the new season, Sekhukhune have played in five games, with two wins, one draw and two defeats.

Brandon Truter and his troops will make their CAF Inter-club debut on Saturday when they tackle DR Congo side FC St. Eloi Lupopo from the DR Congo.

The second preliminary round first leg will be staged at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
