TS Galaxy and Richards Bay are interested in signing former Kaizer Chiefs striker Lehlohonolo Majoro, but his wage demands are a stumbling block.

An SN24 source told this publication that TS Galaxy and Richards Bay were mulling taking the former Free State-born forward, but his demands were the biggest hurdle.

It looks increasingly likely that the 37-year-old striker will have to take a significant pay cut if he is to remain in the PSL. If he does so, then TS Galaxy and Richards Bay will no doubt be waiting in the wings.

He was initially on the verge of a move to Lamontville Golden Arrows. However, the move is still to materialise. He was also linked with a move to Gauteng, specifically SuperSport United.

The former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker was among several high-profile players leaving AmaZulu at the end of last season. This was after he was deemed surplus to requirements.

WHERE WILL MAJORO PLAY HIS FOOTBALL?

Majoro left Usuthu in March this year along with Keagan Buchanan and Ramahlwe Mphahlele after Romain Folz asked the club to release him.

However, AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu recalled him saying he would like to honour him first as a legend before he departs.

He enjoyed a lot of game time for Usuthu in the 2020/2021 campaign, making 26 appearances. He played over 300 games in his professional career and scored 91 goals. Last season, he played only 14 games for the Sandile Zungu-owned club.

Major, as Lehlohonolo Majoro is affectionately known in the football fraternity, rejoined the Durban outfit in July 2019.

He arrived as a free agent at the Durban outfit after he parted ways with Bidvest Wits. The Clever Boys had opted not to renew his contract.

Before linking up with AmaZulu in 2019, he made 17 league appearances at Wits, scoring nine goals and providing one assist. He previously won the league and Nedbank Cup with Orlando Pirates in 2012.

It remains to be seen where the former Cape Town City forward will play his football this season.
