Syrian star Omar Khribin has been demoted to the reserves by Al Wahda coach Pitso Mosimane following a controversial celebration after scoring a goal in the UAE League Cup.

The Syrian striker shushed the South African manager, who had recently dropped him from the starting XI.

The incident happened on Wednesday in Al Wahda’s 3-0 win over Emirates Club. Khribin came on as a substitute and scored the third goal in the 89th minute. After scoring, he turned to the Al Wahda bench and shushed Mosimane, sitting in the dugout.

Mosimane was furious with Khribin’s behaviour and immediately demoted him to the reserves. The South African coach said that Khribin’s actions were “unacceptable” and that he would not tolerate such disrespect.

CAN SYRIAN STAR REPAIR HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH PITSO MOSIMANE

Khribin is a talented player who has been a key player for Al Wahda in recent seasons. However, he has struggled to make an impact under Mosimane. The Syrian striker has only scored two goals in the UAE Pro League this season.

Whether Omar Khribin can repair his relationship with Mosimane and earn his way back into the starting XI remains to be seen. However, his recent behaviour suggests he may have difficulty doing so.

This is not the first time that Khribin has been involved in a controversy. In 2021, he was suspended by Al Wahda for refusing to play in a match. The Syrian striker later apologised for his behaviour.

How this latest incident will affect Khribin’s career remains to be seen. However, he must learn to control his emotions to be a successful player.

Mosimane is known to rule with a firm hand and demands the highest standards of discipline from his players.

According to KingFut, the former Al Ahly coach has demanded an apology from the 29-year-old player. Khribin has been playing for Al Wahda since 2021. He has scored 28 goals and assisted 14 in 46 appearances. However, he has yet to find his feet under Mosimane.
