Kazier Chiefs midfielder Kamohelo Mahlatsi is believed to be on his way out of the Soweto-based outfit and will need to find a new team.

Mahlatsi is yet to feature for Chiefs in the 2023/24 season, and his future has been subject to much speculation in the last couple of months.

And according to FARPost, Amakhosi are eager to finalise the exit of the midfielder before the current window closes at the end of September.

The 25-year-old former South African junior international is deemed surplus to requirements at Chiefs and will see his stay at Chiefs come to a premature end.

He joined The Glamour Boys in 2022 from Moroka Swallows on a three-year deal. However, he has struggled to break into the side.

In Chiefs colours, Kamohelo Mahlatsi has only made seven appearances; that’s 218 minutes of action in 15 months at the club.

MAHLATSI TO PART WAYS WITH CHIEFS

The attacking midfielder’s imminent departure will see him join a list of high-profile players who have already headed out the exit door at Naturena.

In the off-season, Thabani Dube, Erick Mathoho, Cole Alexander, Caleb Bimenyimana, Khama Billiat, Kgaogelo Sekgota, Phathushedzo Nange, and Siyabonga Ngezana all parted ways with Chiefs.

Kaizer Chiefs, eager to reclaim the glory days under new coach Molefi Ntseki, are looking to build a balanced squad that will challenge for trophies.

They added new players to the squad as Kaizer Chiefs look to end the trophy drought as they last won a trophy back in the 2014/15 season under Stuart Baxter.

Tebogo Potsane, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edson Castillo, Given Msimango, Ranga Chivaviro, Pule Mmodi, Jasond González, and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe joined the Soweto giants.

Chiefs have a chance of winning a trophy as they are in the semi-finals of the MTN8, where they set to face Mamelodi Sundowns in the second-leg later this month away from home. The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw at FNB Stadium.

Meanwhile, in the DStv Premiership, Ntseki’s troops have had a lukewarm start, with two wins in their opening five games.
