Highly-rated Kaizer Chiefs defender Given Msimango has admitted that it will be a bit emotional for him to come up against his former side, TS Galaxy, on Sunday.
Msimango will be starkly in focus as he returns to Nelspruit in the colours of Amakhosi to face his ex-teammates at Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium, with kickoff set for 15:00.
The centre-back was one of the high-profile signings for Chiefs ahead of the 2023/24 season as the Soweto giants went on a shopping spree to strengthen their squad in order to end their long trophy drought.
Given Msimango, who has featured in Chiefs’ first three games of the new PSL season, will put sentiment aside as he is eager to put in a good show for his new club.

“I’m looking forward to the game. It is going to be a good one. They are a good team, playing well and we are a great team playing well, so it’s going to be a good fixture for us,” he said.
“That’s where emotional intelligence comes into it,” added Msimango on facing a club he used to captain.
“Obviously, it’s emotional to play against your former employers, people that gave you a platform and opportunities to shine at the highest level of South African football, the PSL.
“But I have to keep that in check and focus on the task at hand. I need to do a job for my current employees, which is Kaizer Chiefs, my new family and help them get maximum points.”
“They have had a lot of changes, like any other team. They lost a few key players last season but the players they have brought in have kept up the quality and the team is playing well. We just need to go there and win and make our supporters happy.”
