AmaZulu FC are on the verge of signing Wayde Jooste to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.
The defender has been a free agent since he parted ways with Maritzburg United at the end of last campaign following the club’s relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship from PSL.Â
After coach Fadlu Davids and his entire technical team were dismissed, Jooste informed the club management that he was leaving.
WAYDE JOOSTE TO SIGN FOR AMAZULU
After joining in January as a free agent, he only spent six months with them, having been unattached in the first round of the 2022/23 season.
The Team of Choice signed the 31-year-old following the arrival of coach Fadlu Davids to replace John Maduka in November last year.Â
Before he joined Maritzburg United, Jooste had trained with SuperSport United under the watchful eyes of head coach Gavin Hunt. Still, the Tswane-based club could not agree with the former Orlando Pirates defender.
It is when coach Davids pounced on the free agent to be reunited at Maritzburg, having coached him at Pirates as the club’s co-coach alongside Mandla Ncikazi before leaving the Soweto giants at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.Â
