SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt has explained why Siyanda Xulu is a perfect fit at the club.
Xulu returned to the DStv Premiership after penning a deal with the Tshwane giants on Friday evening.
SuperSport revealed that the Bafana Bafana international put pen to paper on aa two-year deal with an option to renew.
The 31-year-old is an experienced campaigner and has had stints at Mamelodi Sundowns, Rostov (Russia), Kaizer Chiefs, Maritzburg United, and Hapoel Tel Aviv (Israel).
Siyanda Xulu’s most recent spell was in Azerbaijan at Turan-T IK, where he featured in 25 games last season.
The centre-back is a regular member of the Bafana squad and he is adored by coach Hugo Broos. At international level, Xulu has earned over 25 caps and will be eager to make the team that will compete in the the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast next year.

“I think he’s someone who can fit in well in the club. He has a lot of experience,” said Hunt. The veteran mentor added: “He wants to do it and I have known him for a very long time.”
“He can also help with the younger players that we’ve got. With Tyson and the other guys, we can try form a very good combination. He’s a big signing for us and I’m happy that he’s here.
“Football-wise he’s a good player. He is tough, quick and a great defender. Good character as well, which is needed in that position. He’s number one in Bafana, which is a great signing for the club.”
In addition, Xulu said that he is excited to join Matsatsantsa. “I am feeling very grateful. It’s another opportunity to play at home, which is something that I needed now.
