Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the signing of yet another bright talent from SuperSport United, left winger Thapelo Maseko.
The Tshwane giants unveiled Maseko in a video posted on their official social media accounts on Tuesday.
“The wait is over! Welcome to the Yellow Nation, Thapelo Maseko! Masandawana, let’s make our new signing feel at home and show him how it feels to be part of our family!” Sundowns announced on Twitter.
Maseko penned a deal with Sundowns following a good season in SuperSport colours.
He was a key member of the Matsatsantsa attack last season, helping the club secure a third-place finish in the DStv Premiership to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup.
SUNDOWNS CONTINUE TO HOOVER UP SA TALENT
The 20-year-old also earned a Bafana Bafana call-up on top of being nominated for the DStv Premiership Young Player of the Season award.
Maseko netted four goals in 24 Premiership games for SuperSport last season. He is the latest SuperSport player to be taken by their rich neighbours Sundowns.
In recent years Teboho Mokoena, Grant Kekana, Ronwen Williams, Aubrey Modiba and Sipho Mbule all jumped ship from SuperSport to Sundowns.
In addition, Maseko is the fourth Mamelodi Sundowns signing ahead of the new season, as the club has also brought in Junior Mendieta from Stellenbosch FC, Lucas Ribeiro Costa from Belgian side SK Beveren and Lesiba Nku from Marumo Gallants.

“Speed has always been part of my game; in football, like everything in life, there are distances,” said Maseko.
“With that said, we keep going faster, faster because we never leave the side of the goal. I am Thapelo Maseko, and I’m proud to be here. Areyeng Masandawana!!!”
Sundowns beat Belgian club KV Westerlo to Maseko’s signature. Westerlo had shown great interest in the player, but SuperSport United CEO Stan Mathews was not pleased with the tabled offer, as per reports.
Mathews therefore turned down Westerlo for Mamrlodi Sundowns with Maseko also happy to move to the club.
