Austin Dube has returned to KZN to join a new club following his stint at the Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.
Dube parted ways with Chiefs on Thursday and has already found a new home. The defender reached an agreement with Amakhosi to facilitate his exit with a year left on his contract.
The 30-year-old had penned a three-year deal with Amakhosi from Richards Bay in July 2021 as a highly-rated defender following his impressive performances at Bay in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
He played a vital role as Bafana Bafana won the 2021 COSAFA Cup in Port Elizabeth. That’s where he caught the attention of Chiefs.
Dube was expected to shine at the club, but he struggled for game time in his two years at Soweto. As a Glamour Boy, Dube featured in 18 matches in all competitions.
Following his exit at Naturena, Dube signed a deal with Richards Bay, his ex-club.
The club announced his return on Friday morning as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2023/24 season.
