“With the preparations for the new season already afoot for most of the teams in the PSL, Kaizer Chiefs are pleased to welcome six new additions to the squad that will compete in the 2023/24 season.

“The Club announced during the January window period last season that it had secured the services of Botswana international defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe on a pre-contract from SuperSport United. Ditlhokwe was with his national team during the recent FIFA international break and has signed a contract that will see him at Amakhosi until June 2027. He has been handed the famous jersey #24.

Mduduzi Mdantsane new Kaizer Chiefs player.

“Another defender who will don the famous Gold & Black is Spiwe Given Msimango, who joins Amakhosi from TS Galaxy for the next 4 years. The 26-year-old, who hails from Brakpan, has the ability to play as a centre-back and a defensive midfielder. He enjoyed a great season in the league, earning a call-up to the Bafana Bafana preliminary squad to face Morocco in the AFCON qualifiers. He has been handed jersey #25.

“With the Club having sold Siyabonga Ngezana to Fotbal Club FCSB in Romania, the duo will be expected to take on key defensive duties for Chiefs in the forthcoming campaign.

“In the middle of the park, Amakhosi have signed Mduduzi Mdantsane from Cape Town City. Mdantsane is a product of the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy and was released as a youngster to gain experience elsewhere. He attracted interest after impressing in the Mother City. He returns to Amakhosi as a 28-year-old man. His contract will expire in June 2026, and he will wear jersey #3.

EXPECTED IN SOUTH AFRICA THIS WEEK

“Chiefs have also signed Venezuelan international Edson Daniel Castillo Garcia. The South American who plays in the middle of the park joins from Monagas SC in the Venezuelan Primera Division. He has been handed a two-year contract with a one-year option. He is expected to arrive in South Africa this week.

“In a move that will prove popular with supporters, who have been calling on the Club to sign him, Amakhosi have acquired the services of Pule Mmodi from Lamontville Golden Arrows for the next 3 years. The attacker from Masilo, Theunissen, in the Free State, is equally effective as a right or left winger and managed to find the back of the net six times and give three assists for his previous Club last season. His jersey number is #13.

“Ranga Piniel Chivaviro, who was banging goals in the league as well as the CAF Confederation Cup for Marumo Gallants last term, has also put pen to paper after agreeing to a two-year deal with a one-year option with the Glamour Boys. The Limpopo-born striker scored 10 goals in the league and seven in the Confederation Cup for relegated Gallants. The prolific striker expected to improve the conversion rate of chances into goals, which Amakhosi seemed to struggle with last season. He will don the famous jersey #7.

“The Club is exploring the potential for a few more player acquisitions before the start of the season, and announcements will be made once any deals have been concluded.”
