Steve Komphela of Mamelodi Sundowns has surprisingly parted ways with the club to join Swallows ahead of the new season.

Both Sundowns and Swallows confirmed the latest development on Sunday with Komphela accepting the offer from the Soweto side.

He takes over from Musa Nyatama, who will serve as the assistant coach at the Dube Birds.

Nyatama helped to save Swallows from relegation last season and seal a top eight finish.

He is not the only assistant as Ditheko Mototo was recently announced as the second assistant coach.

Steve Komphela, who was Sundowns’ senior coach before getting promoted to first-team coach last year won multiple trophies at the Tshwane giants including the DStv Premiership.
