Tanzania giants Young Africans SC have announced their decision to part ways with an ex-Orlando Pirates attacker.
The winger had a decent second spell at the club since his arrival from fierce rivals Simba at the start of the season.
Bernard Morrison became the fourth member of the Yanga team to leave the club following a successful 2022/23 season.
The Ghanaian joins coach Nasreddine Nabi, goalkeeper coach Milton Nienov and winger Dickson Ambundo out the exit door.
Morrison’s contract with Yanga expired and both parties decided to go their separate ways.
Yanga took to their social media platforms on Wednesday night to confirm Morrision’s departure in a brief statement.
“We thank Morrison for his contribution throughout his stay with us,” the club expressed its gratitude for the player’s service during his one-season stint.
In addition, Yanga wished Morrison well as he embarks on a new chapter. “We wish him all the best in his new career outside Young Africans SC,” the club added.
Morrison had a successful reunion with the club. He played a vital role as he helped Yanga win the domestic treble, having clinched the Tanzanian Premier League, Super Cup, and FA Cup titles.
And with his inter-club CAF competitions experience, Morrison also assisted Yanga reach the finals Confederation Cup, where they lost to USM Algiers via the away goals rule.
Morrison played six games and scored a single goal in the continental competition. Overall, he made over 20 appearances across all competitions in Yanga colours.
The 30-year-old winger had initially penned a deal with Yanga in 2020 after leaving Congolese side Daring Club Motema Pembe. But then surprised many with a controversial move to Simba after a season before making a return to Yanga.

He had a stint in South Africa which lasted for two years at Orlando Pirates before he was shown the exit door in 2018.
Bernard Morrison is now a free agent and can join a club of his choice ahead of 2022/23. However, the club cannot be in SA as he is banned from entering the country by the Department of Home Affairs.
He overstayed in SA by almost two months after the expiry of his visa. His ban will only be lifted in 2024.
