PSL coach Fadlu Davids is reportedly on the verge of finalizing a deal to join Morocco giants Raja Casablanca and reunite with Josef Zinnbauer.
Davids recently parted ways with Maritzburg United after the club suffered relegation from the DStv Premiership.
It seems Davids won’t be unattached for long as the coach is said to be on his move to Morocco.
Raja Casablanca have tabled an offer for Davids with SABC Sport confirming the impending move. Indications are that the ex-Maritzburg head coach is set to sign a two-year contract with Raja.
The move is influenced by Zinnbauer, who penned a deal with Raja as head coach a few weeks ago. The German coach has asked for David to join Raja’s technical team.
Zinnbauer and Davids worked together at Lokomotiv Moscow and Orlando Pirates. The duo was shown the exit door after a short stint in the Russian Premier League.
At Pirates, they won the MTN8 title before Zinnbauer resigned due to “personal reasons”. Davids took over as a co-coach with Mandla Ncikazi before he was also released to join The Team of Choice.

Davids started negotiations with Raja while he was in the middle of the relegation battle in the PSL Promotional/Relegation playoffs.

He failed to save Maritzburg’s Premiership status, worth R50 million as per the club’s chairman Farook Kadodia. As a result, the coach left the club with his entire technical team.
He took charge mid-way through the season following the sacking of John Maduka following a series of poor results prior to the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup hiatus. The club was at the foot of the table.
Davids only managed to move the club out of the automatic relegation spot to 15th place. They landed in the playoffs, where they lost to Cape Town Spurs for a place in the DStv Premiership spot.
While Maritzburg head to the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Davids is on his way to Morocco. And according to reports, he is taking along a performance analyst who formed part of his technical team at Maritzburg, Mueez Kajee
