Mamelodi Sundowns star Sipho Mbule has outlined the plan that will see him take his game to the next level next season.

Mbule had a stop-start beginning to his promising career due to off-field shenanigans at SuperSport United.

The 25-year-old attacker joined Sundowns before the start of the just-ended season from crosstown rivals SuperSport.

GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

At his previous club, Matsatsantsa, Mbule was suspended for ill-discipline as he had allegedly disrespected his teammates and technical team in April 2022.

Mbule’s issues did not end there as reports in March 2023 emerged that he arrived at a Sundowns training session drunk along with Andile Jali.

However, Mbule now appears to be going in the right direction at Sundowns with the club’s head coach Rulani Mokwena showing faith in the highly-rated midfielder.

In his first season at the Tshwane giants, Mbule picked up form in the latter stages. He made 29 appearances in all competitions including in the CAF Champions League

Mbule scored two goals and contributed an assist while putting in several impressive performances for the club.

The talented midfield maestro has said that he is hungry for more success after winning his maiden DStv Premiership. He described the 2022/23 season as a success.

“It feels really amazing because I’ve been looking for a league medal. But I wanted to win everything, the Champions League and the domestic cups, but it’s a nice feeling to have the DStv Premiership,” said Mbule.

“I’m pretty much happy with the contribution that I’ve made this season, but football is a team sport, I don’t think I would’ve played the way I’ve been playing if it wasn’t for the support of my teammates and the players that are around me and the staff here at sundowns.”

MBULE WANTS TO IMPROVE

In addition, Sipho Mbule revealed what he needs to do in order to take his game to even greater heights in the 2023/24 season.

“In the coming season I think for me I need to score more goals, be involved, and play more often because at Sundowns we always have the ball,” he added.

“I think I need to improve on being more involved in the games, make those assists, and score goals for the team”
