Haashim Domingo is set to join the great trek to North Africa with an imminent two year deal at Morocco giants Raja Casablanca set to be announced.
The 27-year-old midfielder left Mamelodi Sundowns as a free agent this week after negotiation talks broke down. Domingo looked set to stay on at Chlookorp after the Brazilians were widely reported to hold the player in high regard.
However, the player’s situation soon took an unexpected turn when his agent Lance Davids revealed that negotiations with the DSTV Premier Soccer League champions had crumbled.
“We could not agree on new terms and I can confirm to you Haashim is a free agent as things stand. To be honest, he wanted to stay – he loves it there and has won three league titles since he joined Sundowns. But following a conversation with the sporting director, Mr Flemming Berg, we could not come to the same conclusion” Davids told SABC Sport.

Domingo would join Percy Tau (Al Ahly) and Fagrie Lakay (Pyramids FC) in North Africa if his move to the Morocco capital materialises.
The attacking midfielder and his camp left for Morocco on Saturday to push for the quick resolution of his new life at Raja Casablanca. The former South Africa youth international will work under ex-Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer if his move goes through. The German mentor presently coaches the Green Eagles after a short lived stint with Lokomotiv Moscow.
Domingo spent three years at Sundowns after he moved from the defunct Bidvest Wits. The attacking midfielder won five trophies during his time with Masandawana, including the domestic treble in 2021-22 but the past season was coloured with cameo roles at the star studded side. He only made 15 appearances under Mokoena.
