Young Africans have confirmed that their head coach Nasreddine Nabi has parted ways with the club.
Nabi leaves Yanga after two and a half years with reports indicating that Kaizer Chiefs are eager to acquire his services. He has offers from Algeria, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.
On Wednesday evening, Yanga said that Nabi requested to leave “so that he could have a new challenge”.
In a statement, the club added “The leadership of Young Africans Sports Club would like to inform the public that it has reached an agreement to part ways with its coach Nasreddine Nabi after the coach asked not to extend a new contract.
“Coach Nasreddine Nabi’s contract with Young Africans Sports Club has ended at the end of this season.
“After the end of the contract, the leader of Young Africans Sports Club met with Coach Nabi for negotiations to sign a new contract. But Nabi asked to leave so that he could have a new challenge.”
The Tunisian coach won two Premier League titles, two Azam Confederation Cup titles, and two Community Shield titles during his stint at Yanga. In addition, he led the club to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup.
“The leadership of Young Africans Sports Club thanks Coach Nabi for his contribution throughout the period he worked for our team and wishes him all the best in his journey,” declared Yanga.
“In addition, the leadership of the Young Africans Sports Club has started the process of finding a new coach to replace Coach Nasreddine Nabi.”

Nabi, who is keen on coaching in the DStv Premiership is still weighing up his options. The coach is currently in talks with Chiefs but the two parties are yet to agree on personal terms.
Chiefs finished the just-ended season trophyless under the guidance of coach Arthur Zwane who looks set to be replaced.
