Former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer has a new job in North Africa as he was unveiled by Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.
The club made the announcement on Thursday evening.
Raja compete in Morocco’s Premier Division Botola Pro League, and they not been having the best of seasons.
They are sixth on the log standings with four games to go in the campaign and will look to Zinnbauer to restore the club back to its glory backs.
Josef Zinnbauer replaces coach Mondher Kebaier, who was reportedly shown the exit door for a breach of contract as he was absent from work for almost two weeks. It is said that Kebaier didn’t provide a good reason for missing training sessions.
The 53-year-old Zinnbauer, who joined Raja on a a two-year deal deal, was clubless since his short and unsuccessful stint in Russia at Lokomotiv Moscow in 2022 October.
He will be expected to hit the ground running as Raja are in the semi-finals of The Throne Cup, where they are set to tackle Wydad Casablanca.
The three-time CAF Champions League winners are also in the group stages of the Arab Cup where they have a date with Algeria’s CR Belouizdad.
The ex-Pirates head coach knows all about winning trophies as he clincher the MTN8 in 2020/21 with the Soweto giants.
