With July around the corner, SN24 looks at Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns players who have entered the final month of their current contracts.
The three South African giants are already on the move in the market, finalising exits and incoming players.
ORLANDO PIRATES
SN24 sources have indicated that Orlando Pirates have opened talks with the camp of Thabang Monare. The former Bidvest Wits midfield grafter looks likely to have his stay extended beyond the 2022/23 PSL campaign.
The 33-year-old had his contract extended by a further year season in July last year. The Buccaneers revealed, at the time, that his deal would end on June 30 this year.
Ben Motshwari’s current deal with Orlando Pirates will expire at the end of June, and he is eyeing a longer contract extension to secure his future.
On the other hand, the club is understood to have offered a one-year deal so far. SuperSport United, Sekhukhune United and Richard’s Bay are some of the 32-year-old central midfielder’s suitors.
Talks between Orlando Pirates and Richard Ofori agency have resumed. The 2023 Nedbank Cup champions are hoping to reach an agreement with the Ghana international over a new deal, with the current one set to expire this month.
Orlando Pirates are also keen to keep Terrence Dzvukmanja. The Zimbabwean forward impressed the technical team during the second half of the season. He scored seven goals and two assists and scored the winner in the 2-1 victory in the Nedbank Cup Final against Sekhukhune. The Sea Robbers would like to extend the player’s contract to keep him in the squad for next season.
Former Black Leopards midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange is headed for the exit door at Kaizer Chiefs. SuperSport United and Stellebosch FC want the 31-year-old.
The Limpopo-born player could therefore reunite with either Gavin Hunt or Steve Barker. Gavin Hunt has not hidden his admiration for the talented midfielder.
KAIZER CHIEFS
Kaizer Chiefs are set to extend the stay of Bafana Bafana international defender Sifiso Hlanti beyond his current deal.
Hlanti is currently in the final year of his current deal with Chiefs having the option of exercising a further year to his stay.
SN24 understands that the Soweto giants have decided to exercise that option to hold onto Hlanti for next season.

Itumeleng Khune and Khama Billiat are also two players they want to keep. However, the two will have to take salary cuts. Billiat, though, has caught the interest of Young Africans of Tanzania.
MAMELODI SUNDOWNS
Haashim Domingo has parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns after failing to agree on a new contract. Hashim is a free agent as things stand, SuperSport United is his likely destination. Sundowns are chasing Stellebosch midfielder Junior Mendieta as a possible replacement for Domingo.
Contract renewal talks with Denis Onyango and Reyaad Pieterse are ongoing at Chloorkop, with their current deals expiring this month.
