The PSL has announced the date and venue of the 2022/23 Nedbank Cup final ahead of the weekend’s semi-finals.
Kaizer Chiefs lock horns with Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby as Stellenbosch FC host Sekhukhune United to determine the last two.
The ongoing 16th edition of the tournament has been full of entertainment and excitement for football fans.
NEDBANK CUP FINAL VENUE REVEALED
All eyes will be on the Soweto Derby on Saturday as Chiefs look to end the season with a piece of silverware in their cabinet.
On the other hand, Pirates would want to add another trophy after winning the MTN8 Cup.
PSL acting Chief Executive Officer Mato Madlala said the final would take place on May 27 to close another eventful season.
“The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced that the 2022/23 Nedbank Cup final will be played at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane on Saturday, 27 May 2023,” read the statement.
Madlala said Loftus Versfeld Stadium, known for hosting rugby games, had a rich history in South African sports.
She said all stakeholders were thrilled to host this season’s Nedbank Cup final at the world-class venue, which has become Mamelodi Sundowns’ home.

“We do not doubt that together with our partners Nedbank, we will deliver a successful event on the 27th of May, 2023. We would also like to thank the Gauteng Provincial Government for coming on board and providing logistical support for hosting this final.”
EXCITED THE CAPITAL CITY WILL HOST
Nedbank’s Group Executive of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Khensani Nobanda, said they were “very excited” the Capital City would play host to the final.
Interestingly, the Loftus Stadium becomes the ninth FIFA World Cup 2010 stadium that hosts the final.
“Together with our partners, the PSL, we look forward to delivering a fun-filled matchday with tremendous fanfare and entertainment. We encourage families, football fans, music- and entertainment lovers to buy tickets early to avoid disappointment. This Nedbank Cup final promises to be one for the books.”
Last year, the final, won by Sundowns, was hosted in Rustenburg at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.
