Marumo Gallants assistant coach Selaotse ‘Sly‘ Mosala has singled out the one team that could challenge Mamelodi Sundowns next season.

Mamelodi Sundowns have won six league titles successively, and there seems no stopping them. This time around, they won it with seven games to go before the end of the season.

It was a new record in the DStv Premiership, but Mosala believes their dominance comes to an end next term.

He was sharing his thoughts after being involved with the Limpopo outfit since the start of the year.

The former Mbabane Highlanders head coach was reacting to SuperSport’s performance against Bahlabane ba ntwa in a midweek encounter.

“We managed to steal a point from them. They missed a penalty, and I feel at some point, we deserved a penalty, but we didn’t get it.

“Overall, I was quite impressed by Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport United, I think they will challenge next season.

“They’re young but very strong, physical and technically good. You can see he is building a monster right there,” Mosala said.

Hunt has a relatively young team blended with the experience of the likes of Bradley Grobler, Thamsanqa Gabuza, Thulani Hlatshwayo and Onisimor Bhasera.

The PSL’s longest-serving coach has also relied on a number of players that are on loan.

Ricardo Goss, Grant Margeman, Siphesihle Ndlovu and Zakhele Lepasa are on loan from Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

The quartet has played a pivotal role as SuperSport chase a second-place finish in the league.

Hunt will be eager to guide Matsatsantsa with a runners up spot to play in the CAF Champions League next season.

SuperSport are currently second in the league, although they have played a game more.

Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are also vying for the Champions League spot and are in action this weekend.

The Buccaneers take on fifth-placed Cape Town City while Chiefs lock horns with Sekhukhune United.
