Orlando Pirates midfielder Ben Motshwari will see his current contract expire at the end of the 2022/23 season.
As things stand, the 32-year-year-old has not yet signed a new deal with the club, with indications that there is an impasse between the two parties.
Motshwari had been offered a one-year extension to his contract, but the player has reportedly turned it down.
MOTSHWARI UNHAPPY
According to a source within the club, Motshwari is unhappy with the duration of the contract that the Soweto giants have offered him.

SN24 has been informed that the Buccaneers are only willing to offer the former Bidvest Wits midfielder one year, presumably because of his age and his limited involvement with the team.
This season, the central midfielder has made three starts in the DStv Premiership and 12 substitute appearances for Bucs.
He played a further two minutes in the Nedbank Cup so far, and 152 minutes in the MTN8 Cup, which they won.
Pirates coach Jose Riveiro prefers Miguel Timm and Thabang Monare in the central defensive midfielder role this season.
Nonetheless, the former Wits midfield grafter has refused to take a short-term contract.
“He’s not happy with the short-term contract, which makes sense. The longer contract gives him a bit of security. But the club’s thinking is that he’s not playing regularly this season,” a source told SN24.
Prior to moving to Pirates in July 2018, he made 66 league appearances for Bidvest Wits, scoring five goals.

With Motshwari reaching the twilight of his career, it remains to be seen if Bucs will offer the central midfielder a new contract based on his demands.
Motshwari previously worked with SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt at Wits. The veteran coach is thought to be keen on a reunion with the midfielder if he is available on a free transfer.
With less than three months remaining on his contract with the club, Motshwari can sign a pre-contract elsewhere.
