Baroka FC and South Africa youth international midfielder Sydney Malivha is reportedly on the radar of two PSL teams ahead of the next transfer window.

The left-footed central defensive midfielder, nicknamed Camavinga after the Real Madrid star, has been in fine form in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Sydney Malivha joined the former Premiership side at the start of the 2021 season. He was coming from Marumo Gallants’ DStv Diski Challenge side.

He joined the Limpopo side with Train Mokabi from JDR, Akani Chauke from TS Sporting, Seleka Sithole from Cape Umoya, Bennet Bobete and Tshegofatso Bosega, both from Baroka FC DStv Diski Challenge.

Following Bakgaga’s demotion to the second tier, the 21-year-old went down with them.

The combative defensive linkman made seven appearances in his first season in the topflight as a 19-year-old.

He has established himself as a regular for the club as they fight to return to the topflight.

From a deep midfield position, he has scored four goals for the Khurishi Mphahlele-owned outfit.

He has been credited for his ability to read the game well, breakdown opposition attacks and forward passing.

His ingenuity has earned him call-ups to the youth national team and the Bafana Bafana squad that played at the 2022 COSAFA Cup.

A source close to the player has told SN24 that Stellenbosch FC and Royal AM have enquired about the player’s availability for next season.

“He’s done very well in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, and there have been enquiries from two PSL clubs – Royal AM and Stellenbosch,” the source said.

In most recent times, Stellenbosch have done business with Baroka, with Nhlanhla Mgaga and Vusi Sibiya on three-year deals at the end of last season.

The Winelands outfit looks set to snap up the Limpopo-born linkman.
